Winning isn’t everything, but spinach is!
Matt Hill, that’s “Mr Spinach” to you and I secured pole position on his birthday after a stella performance in the heats.
Matt would need to have one eye over his shoulder as Jack Goldsmith secured 2nd on the grid with Lee Chapman 3rd and Jonathan Seekings 4th.
“The survivor” Wayne Jenkins managed to secure the final spot on the A Final grid having survived the earthquake that was the B Final.
Under starters orders!
And their of!
A mega start from Jack Goldsmith saw him challenging for the lead into the first corner, he ain’t called Popeye for no reason, Matt defends his position like Olive Oyl’s life depends on it and keeps his position.
Having survived the B final Wayne would be hoping for a less dramatic affair in the A final, he quickly found the immovable object that was Aaron Whith, these two would spend the entire race replicating a Chuckle Brokers sketch, swapping personal fastest laps, “To Me, To You.”
With huge kudos points available in the Heavyweight Championship, this was a race with two different races, if that makes sense?
James Alford has been having it all his own way recently, leading the championship and collecting maximum points at the last round.
Welcome to competition Kevin Lestrange!
Both Kevin and James also found themselves sharing the same piece of tarmac in 6th and 7th, maximum Heavyweight points were on the line for this position.
After a good start Joe Higgins found himself, by himself, with the top 7 drivers ahead and Joe in 8th with a large gap behind Joe settled in.
Behind Joe was the family affair, dad was leading lad, after not such a great early start of the race Brandon was now trailing dad Matthew, good luck trying to get past dad 🙂
Jonathan Seeking must have been sharing Popeyes’ spinach, hes the only driver in the front pack on the move, he passed Lee Chapman who now has Donny Bolt for company and now looking likely to pass Jack Goldsmith.
Less than a second separates the top 4 drivers with the top 3 looking like the Human Caterpillar!
Donny Bolt’s 4th looked now confirmed with Lee Chapman becoming a smaller and smaller object in the horizon, it looked more likely that the heavyweight battle behind, headed by Kevin Lestrange would be Donny next visitor.
Donny answers his critic with an amazing lap, where did that come from? Donny’s laptime of 43.738 is nearly half a second faster than anyone, a little to late from Donny.
The Birthday boy flexes his muscle, crosses the line and collects the victory! Winner Winner,
It’s spinach for dinner.
Jack Goldsmith collects a strong 2nd position an inch behind Matt and a further inch ahead of Jonathan Seekings, Fantastic driving from our top three.
Kevin Lestrange collects the spoils in the heavyweight contest.
