So, you’ve experienced the Challenge 30, pushed yourself in the Sprint 45, and survived the Ironman 60. Now it’s time for teamwork; time to endure the Team 70!
The event takes place on Saturday the 18th of June and consists of a 10 minute practice session and an hour long race. Drivers work in teams of two to reach the top step of the podium and all the glory that comes with it.
This is the ultimate test of friendship and teamwork! Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg were best of friends before being teammates in Formula One - will your friendship prove as strong?
Endurance racing really takes centre stage on the 18th of this month, with the most famous race of them all starting at the exact moment that you could be receiving your winner’s trophies: the World Endurance Championship’s Le Mans 24 Hours. You will experience all the tension and adrenalin of Le Mans, albeit across a slightly shorter timeframe, as you trust your team-mate to do the business for you while you watch helplessly from the pits, attempt a record breaking pit stop and battle the unpredictabley changeable track conditions. The track will be extremely busy, just as it is at Le Mans, with up to 25 teams competing for glory, so you’ll have to be quick if you want to be in the winner’s circle.
Even before you’ve left the pitlane, you will see the rejuvenated Lakeside facilities with the all new circuit lighting safety system. This makes it far easier to spot the yellow flag zones, so not only is it safer, but the danger of receiving a black flag for not seeing these warnings is greatly reduced!
Also included in the rejuvenation project are our kerbs and tyre walls, which have had a fresh lick of paint. This really brightens up the track for the summer.
